Christmas around the corner? Kind of. not really. But here's my New Years Resolutions anyway

So i know that we aren't really close to January, in fact its more than 4 months away, but I decided to start thinking about my new years resolutions. I've never made an official New years resolution for myself, but I think it might be good for me. And I'll start putting them into action now.

* I want to care more, be less flaky and more dependable. I forget almost everything! I forget birthdays, I return phone calls days late, I constantly have to pay late fees for forgotten credit card bills.

* I want to stick to my diet. I know its such a cliche, but I really really need to get off this baby weight. My son is going on 7 months and I have lost a whole 2 lbs.

* I am going to learn to be a better listener. I tend to block people out after a while, a short while. Although this ability does come in handy sometimes.

* I am going to stop judging people. I know I have missed out any many friendships because I judge people very quickly on whether or not we'd make good friends.

* I am going to take advantage of my free time. I don't get enough accomplished and know that I can do SO much more.

More Rewind. Less Fast Forward, Please. Thanks.

I think a lot about the fact that I had a baby so early in life. I feel like everything is on fast forward. I am a mommy. I am 21. Sometimes it makes me a little crazy. Sometimes I think its amazing how much I love him and how he makes my heart melt. I just need to make sure I get enough time with Roy and enough sleep. They both keep me sane. I have to watch my emotions on days I don't or I will cry for everything. Here's my amazing son... he loves to model for the pictures.

bbq weekend...

Roy and I decided to invite a few friends over to enjoy a bbq on his new grill. He was so excited, it was really cute. Not too many people showed... I think we made it too last minute. But we still had SO much fun and of course, some amazing food. Teriyaki chicken and garlic and herb chicken with some potato planks. The potatoes were the best part! The bbq turned into everyone get drunk and go to the bar. Random nights are the best.
Here's me, my fiancee and best friend on the night in question...

And .... I am myself again.

Just yesterday I realized how much I really do love crafting and being home with my son. I mean, I knew that I liked having the opportunity to do so, but I had this amazing aww inspiring moment and everything just kind of ..... made sense.

It was around 11am, mattys first nap of the day and I walk in to my craft room, ok i'm lying...., my craft room is a small corner of my bedroom and in no way a room to itself. Well anyways.... i walk into my "craft room" open the windows and begin looking through new fabrics that I just ordered from http://RainbowFabrics.etsy.com and as I looked up, caught that amazing san diego ocean smell breeze, i felt a small smile slowly creep up onto my face. I must have stood there for almost 2 minutes just staring out the window, the beautiful sun perfectly shining and I was just content. No worries about paying the bills, or the lack of sleep from the night before, I was just... myself again. And I have to tell you, after being pregnant and having a child, rarely do you feel like "yourself". It was amazing. I hope to have moments like these everyday... well at least, once a week :)

Swap. love it.

I received a convo today from http://www.leboutique.etsy.com/. She's interested in doing a swap for my black guinea feather headband... her shop is absolutely adorable! Tons of little buttons for your hair and things. I can't wait to pick something out. I'm adding it to tomorrows to do list :)

So far, this vintage half comb is my favorite!

workin on my time managament skills

I am the absolute worst at spending my time wisely. I seem to put everything off to the last minute, then run out of time. THEN do the same thing again the next day and the next day. I've been known to put off dinner until 9pm, return phone calls the week after, never return text messages because I forget, and complain that I never have "me time" on a daily basis.
After reading a very informative article in an etsy email... that I can't seem to find anymore, it became clear to me that I could get so much more done if I put together a "to do list" daily. No more procrastination and no more forgetting!
I've managed to follow my to do list for about 3 days now and boy do I feel good! I skip my afternoon naps with the baby to get in my "me time + craft time". I also start dinner promptly at 6pm, no later. No excuses. I am just trying to be as productive as possible and when I see that my goal for the day is to make 3 new time of the month wallets, and 2 new headbands, etc etc, I get it done. I don't just keep waiting until I have enough time to complete everything, I do it little by little throughout the day whenever I have the time.
Best of all, I have more time to blog :)

Matty is Mobile... I repeat, Matty is mobile.

Yes, thats right. Matthew is now crawing! well, more of a dragging. But he is fast!! and ALL over the place. I walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water and when I came back he was already in his dads dvd collection, about to knock the whole stand over. Time for a trip to wal mart for EVERYTHING they have on baby proofing. Now... if only they had something to stop him from peeing on me....

oh actually!! i remember seeing something for that. yes yes, pee pee tee pees!

I just found some super cute ones from http://www.turtlemommy.etsy.com/

How cute is that! haha. I think Matty's to big for those now though, he shakes and moves and tries to make diaper changing as hard as possible. But I would love opinions from anyone who has used them before??
